도널드 트럼프 미국 대통령은 2일 김정은 북한 국무위원장에게 "당신의 '좋은 서한'에 감사한다.

곧 보게 되기를 기대한다"고 밝혔다.

트럼프 대통령은 현지시간으로 전날 하와이에서 북한으로부터 송환된 미군 유해 환영식이 열린 뒤 트위터에 "우리의 훌륭하고도 사랑하는 전몰자 유해를 고향으로 보내는 과정을 시작하는 약속을 지켜준 데 대해 김정은 위원장에게 감사한다"며 이같이 말했다.

트럼프 대통령은 앞서 올린 트윗에서도 하와이 유해 송환식에 대해 "믿을 수 없을 정도로 아름다운 행사였다"며 "호놀룰루와 모든 군 관계자들에게 감사드린다"고 밝혔다.
